Which ESD bag do you need?
Antistatic, shielding, and moisture barrier properties serve different purposes. For sensitive devices leaving an ESD protected area (EPA), select packaging with discharge shielding as well as appropriate low-charging properties.
Dry-pack applications
Moisture barrier
For moisture-sensitive devices needing controlled moisture exposure. Select a construction with the required ESD properties.
Check: barrier rating, seal process, desiccant, and humidity indication.
Controlled handling
Antistatic
Low-charging packaging for appropriate uses within a controlled ESD process. Antistatic properties alone do not provide discharge shielding.
Check: your ESD control plan and any additional protective packaging.
Specified applications
Conductive
For applications that specifically call for conductive packaging. Material conductivity and shielding performance must be evaluated separately.

Common ESD bag questions
Is an antistatic bag the same as a shielding bag?
No. Antistatic properties reduce charging. A shielding bag also provides protection against external discharge. Choose the properties required by your device and ESD control process.
Does a shielding bag protect against moisture?
Do not assume it does. Dry-pack applications require a specified moisture barrier construction and a suitable sealing process, with desiccant and humidity indication as required.
Can I request a custom size or printed bag?
Yes. Include your dimensions, printing needs, and quantity in the request. Minimum quantities, availability, and lead times vary with the selected construction and configuration.
