Replacing or identifying a tray
- Photographs of the complete top and bottom, both end tabs, and all molded markings.
- Manufacturer, tray number, revision, material, and temperature markings that can be read.
- The device part number or package drawing, and a photograph of the device seated in a working tray.
- Quantity, needed-by date, and whether new or reusable trays are acceptable.
Selecting a tray for a device
- Device manufacturer, full part number, and package drawing with dimensions and tolerances.
- Package orientation and areas that may or may not contact the tray.
- Storage, shipping, manual handling, or automated equipment requirements.
- Temperature, exposure time, repeated cycles, cleanliness, ESD, and documentation requirements.
Include the complete packaging requirement
Count the empty cover trays required for the planned stacks. Tell Malaster whether straps, bands, protective bags, or a particular shipping arrangement also need to be considered.
If fit is uncertain, keep a working tray and device sample available. The team can determine whether photographs and drawings are sufficient for the initial review or whether a physical sample is needed.
