IC Shipping Tube
End Stop Plugs
Close a matched IC shipping tube with the right end stop plug. Compare part numbers and profile families, then check the tube opening, insertion depth, and device clearance.
Start with the tube part number
End stop plugs help keep components from sliding out of an IC shipping tube during loading, storage, and shipment. The plug must match the tube’s end opening and engage securely without distorting the tube or pressing against the devices.
Use the accessories listed on your IC shipping tube product page as a starting point. If you are replacing a plug in an existing packaging process, match the full part number and review the current drawings before making a substitution.
Available end stop plugs
Browse the part numbers below and open a product page for its profile designation and selection guidance. The range includes nominal-width plugs, SOIC, SOP, SSOP and TSSOP profiles, QFN profiles, and low-profile closures.
A designation such as 300 mil or 5 × 5 QFN identifies a size or package family; it does not specify every plug dimension or establish a fit with every tube in that family.

Check fit before approving a plug
Opening and engagement
Compare the plug geometry with the tube opening, including internal ribs and wall features. Check tolerances and insertion force on the actual tube.
Depth and device clearance
Allow for how far the plug enters the tube when calculating usable length and device capacity. Keep the closure clear of leads and fragile surfaces.
Retention and handling
Check that the plug stays seated through your loading and handling process. Inspect the plug and tube for wear or damage before reuse.
Material, static control, and remaining space
Confirm material and electrical requirements for the exact plug part number. Color alone does not establish whether a plug is conductive, dissipative, or antistatic, and closing the tube does not by itself establish ESD shielding.
A plug closes the end but can leave room for components to move inside. For a partial load, review ESD tube fillers and size the filler to the remaining usable space. Evaluate the tube, closures, filler, devices, and outer packaging together.
Need help matching an end stop plug?
Send the tube part number or profile drawing, a clear end-view photograph, device dimensions, expected quantity, and any material or ESD requirements. Include the existing plug part number when replacing a closure. Malaster can review an existing option or assess a custom closure for your application.
