Use the Package Drawing, Not the Acronym Alone
SOP, TSOP and TSSOP families include many combinations of molded width, package thickness, lead pitch and overall span. Compare those values to the listed tube drawing before selecting a profile.
Molded bodyConfirm body width and thickness where the tube supports or constrains the device.
Lead span + pitchUse actual outside lead span and pitch rather than assuming a common TSOP/TSSOP format.
Insertion orientationConfirm which surfaces ride in the profile and that loading does not stress the leads.
For New or Unusual Small-Outline Packages
Send the manufacturer's package outline when a listed tube does not obviously match. Malaster can compare the package envelope against existing profiles and determine whether a standard option is practical.
