Pins, plugs and fillers have different jobs. Choose the accessory around the tube profile, end geometry, loaded quantity and the movement you need to control.

Choose the Accessory by Function

End closures keep a loaded device stack in the tube. Fillers reduce unused internal length so the load cannot build momentum or shift excessively. The tube profile decides whether a pin or plug is appropriate; the loaded length determines whether filler is also needed.

A Practical Selection Sequence

1. Identify the tube

Use the Malaster part number when available. Otherwise, start with the profile drawing or opening dimensions.

2. Choose the closure

Confirm whether the tube uses pin locations or requires a plug fitted to its end profile.

3. Check the load length

For a partial load, add filler or another qualified method to limit travel before the end closure is installed.

4. Review special handling

Device geometry, lead protection, cleanliness and handling can change the recommended arrangement.


Compatibility Is Profile Specific

A plug that closes one tube opening may not fit another. Likewise, pins depend on the retention-hole geometry. The fastest way to get to the right accessory is to provide the tube part number or the information below.
